6.8 Quake in S. Pacific

HONG KONG —
A strong earthquake was recorded Saturday in the vicinity of Western Samoa, the Royal Hong Kong Observatory reported.
The quake measured 6.8 on the Richter scale and was centered about 320 miles south of Apia in Western Samoa, a statement from the observatory said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the quake.
