Dave Henderson of the Oakland Athletics and Larry Herndon of the Detroit Tigers have filed for free agency.

Henderson, 30, who was signed by Oakland as a free agent last year for $450,000, batted .304 this season with 24 homers and 94 runs batted in, all career highs.

Herndon, 34, batted .224 with 4 homers and 20 RBIs in 174 at-bats and made $400,000. It was his worst season since 1977.
