Canyon Edges Foothill to Clinch Tennis Title

Canyon High School’s girls’ tennis team tied Foothill, 9-9, in sets, but won on games, 74-73, to clinch the Century League title Monday at Canyon.

Lisa Alpaz, Canyon’s No. 1 singles player, swept her sets, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. The No. 1 doubles team of Phuong Nguyen and Gaby TerJung swept their sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-0, for Canyon (16-1, 9-0). Foothill is 7-2 in league play.
