The body of a man was discovered on the Silver Strand Beach in Coronado on Wednesday afternoon, sheriff’s officials reported.

The man appeared to have died of head injuries, and it was unknown whether his body was dumped on the beach or washed ashore, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. The unidentified man was believed to be in his 20s, possibly of Asian descent, about 5-foot-7, 120 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a sparse mustache, a coroner’s spokesman said.
