Almas Bunny Outruns Rastus Handicap Field
Almas Bunny won Friday night’s Bull Rastus Handicap at Los Alamitos Race Course.
Heading postward at 3-1 odds in the 870-yard sprint, Almas Bunny battled even-money favorite Movin Brown Jug to the far turn, took a 2-length lead at the head of the stretch, and then packed the field away to win by 3 1/2 lengths in a time of 44.95 seconds.
It was the third consecutive victory for Almas Bunny, who is trained by Marshall Ferrell. Almas Bunny paid $8.40, $3.20 and $2.60.
Movin Brown Jug held on for second to return $3.00 and $2.40. Bonshinner, a 9-1 shot, checked in a head behind Movin Brown Jug in third to pay $5.40.
