A Canoga Park man was being held without bail Wednesday after confessing that he shot and killed his fiancee during an argument about money and honeymoon plans, Los Angeles police said.

Eric Michael Lewis, 33, was arrested on suspicion of murder by officers investigating the death of Beverly Jordan, 30, whose body was found Tuesday in her car in Chatsworth.

Lt. Harvie Eubank said Lewis and Jordan, who had lived together since April and were planning to marry in January, drove separate vehicles to the area to look at condominiums for sale in the Santa Susana Pass. But they wound up arguing about unpaid bills and Lewis’ failure to complete arrangements for their honeymoon to Hawaii, Eubank said.

“They got into a heated argument over minor personal and financial matters, wedding plans, the best suit for the best man as well as their planned trip,” he said.

When Jordan got back into her car, Lewis followed with a handgun he kept under the seat of his pickup, Eubank said. The argument continued and he shot Jordan, the lieutenant said.
