An aerospace worker surrendered to Sunnyvale police on charges he glued shut the eyes of four kittens and taped their legs together. Bradley Graff, 30, was released on $6,000 bail after he was charged with four counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty, Lt. Jim Stoner said. Graff lives in an apartment near the patio where the 5-week-old kittens and their mother were found by a Humane Society officer Oct. 21. Graff told police he sealed the kittens’ eyes shut with a silicon-based caulking compound to treat what he thought were eye infections, Stoner said. Graff bound the kittens’ legs with tape to keep them from straying into the parking lot of the apartment complex. “He said he was trying to protect the kittens, and that’s why he did what he did,” Stoner said. Two of the kittens were dead when found.
