After a poor performance in last month’s ratings sweeps, KHJ-TV Channel 9 is changing its tactics in the morning talk-show wars. Beginning Jan 2., the Disney-owned station will move Regis Philbin’s nationally syndicated “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee,” which has been getting clobbered by KABC’s “A.M. Los Angeles,” from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. “Sally Jessy Raphael,” the “Donahue”/”Oprah”-clone, will move into the 9 o’clock slot to counter “A.M.’s” softer, celebrity-oriented fare with more sensationalistic, issue-driven talk. KHJ’s longstanding public affairs program, “Mid-Morning Los Angeles” with Stephanie Edwards, will be seen at 8 a.m.
