The 11-year-old Rancho Penasquitos boy who was stabbed three times last week--allegedly by his mother--was in fair condition Monday at Children’s Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

Chung Lim Lee was admitted in serious condition Friday and spent the night in intensive care, hospital spokesman Mark Morelli said.

“There has been considerable improvement,” Morelli said, adding that the boy will probably be released by Wednesday if his condition continues to improve.

“He’s getting good support from his dad and his sister,” Morelli said, referring to hospital visits by the two.

Lee ran to a neighbor’s house Friday afternoon and said that he had been stabbed by his mother while in their home, in the 10700 block of Via las Posadas, police said.

The boy was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital and transferred to Children’s Hospital, where he was treated for multiple stab wounds.

The boy’s mother, 37-year-old Keon Lee, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, corporal punishment to a child and willful cruelty to a child. She was being held without bail Monday at the County Jail at Las Colinas.

She is expected to be arraigned this week.
