Junior center Claudia Rocha scored a school-record 30 points Wednesday to lead visiting North Hollywood to a 77-34 rout of Poly in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Rocha, who also had 12 rebounds, eclipsed Cheryl Buch’s 14-year record of 29 points early in the fourth quarter. She is averaging 12.5 points a game.

“Two minutes into the fourth quarter, she was on the bench,” North Hollywood Coach Rich Allen said. “We’ve had a lot of mid-20s, but we’ve never had a 30. I had no idea until the scorekeeper told me.”
