SPORTS : Fan’s Ashes Going to Super Bowl
The ashes of a longtime San Francisco 49ers fan will be taken to the Super Bowl by his sons so he can “be there in spirit.”
Les Boatwright, who died with two Super Bowl tickets in his pocket Monday, had missed only two Super Bowls since the first game was played in 1967. “It was my brother who said we should take Dad to the Super Bowl,” Marc Boatwright said. “He’ll be there in spirit.” He said that after the game in Miami, he and his brother, Todd, will bring the ashes back to California and scatter them over the Pacific.
