Local : Huntington Beach Man Slain
A Huntington Beach businessman was shot to death in his garage by a man who apparently had been waiting for him, police said this morning.
Truman Jue, 43, had just returned to his house on the 8400 block of Sweetwater Lane about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was shot once in the chest with a handgun, Huntington Beach Lt. Ed McErlain said.
Jue, who owned a drugstore in Los Angeles County, was carrying the day’s receipts, which were found at the scene.
“The apparent motive was robbery, but no money was taken,” McErlain said.
Jue died at the scene. Witnesses said they saw a man leaving the scene in a “large-model station wagon” but could not describe him.
Huntington Beach police are asking anyone with information about the murder to call 536-5951 or 969-2272.
