A 55-year-old Jamul man suffered fatal head injuries Tuesday night when his truck collided with a car at Granite Hills Drive and Madison Avenue in El Cajon, police reported.

Robert John Weaklem was driving north on Granite Hills Drive about 9:30 p.m. when he failed to stop at Madison Avenue, where there is a stop sign, police said. The pickup struck a car eastbound on Madison Avenue.

Weaklem was ejected from the truck as it rolled once and crashed through a wooden fence behind a house, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver was treated for minor head injuries and released, a police spokeswoman said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation Wednesday.
