Cutlass Reality, who will be making his first start of 1989, won six stakes races last year including the Hollywood Gold Cup at Hollywood Park in June. In that race, Cutlass Reality finished far ahead of Horse of the Year Alysheba.

Cherokee Colony is coming off an impressive victory in the seven-furlong San Carlos Handicap last month. In that race, he caught and passed On The Line in the late going. The start will be only the second for Cherokee Colony since last April, when he suffered a fractured cannon bone.
