Hilltop Upsets No. 6 Southwest, 59-51

Hilltop High made eight of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter and upset sixth-ranked Southwest, 59-51, in a Metro Conference boys’ basketball game Monday night at Hilltop.
Southwest had rallied from a 30-24 halftime deficit to lead, 41-40, going into the fourth quarter. But Hilltop made eight of 12 free-throw attempts, while Southwest (19-7, 11-2) was missed its only free-throw attempt in the final quarter.
Chad Boyd scored 15 points, Donald Hardin 14 and Chris White 13 to lead Hilltop (10-15, 6-7). Will Tate had 16 points for Southwest.
