Nader Mousavi, a senior defensive end on last season’s Beverly Hills High School football team and a Times All-Westside selection, was named a 1989 scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Inc.
Three more high school senior football players signed letters of intent with UCLA, raising the number of new recruits to 22, including two from junior colleges.
The three, each an all-state selection, were Newhall Hart High tight end Brian Allen, Palmdale defensive back Travis Collier and Bakersfield offensive lineman Derek Stevens. Allen was named an All-American by Super Prep magazine.
