Local News in Brief : 4.0 Earthquake Jolts Parts of 4 Counties
A mild, short earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 and centered three miles southwest of Chino jolted a large area of western San Bernardino and Riverside counties and eastern Los Angeles and Orange counties at 11:17 p.m. Friday.
There were no reports of serious damage or injury. However, there were several reports of pictures falling and glasses and dishes rattling or falling from tables.
“It was a really sharp jolt, more like a sonic boom. It was pretty strong, but there was no damage,.” said Ruben Lopez of Chino Hills.
