Local : Girl, 15, Stabbed at High School
A 15-year-old Huntington Park girl was stabbed in the face, back and arms this morning while she was walking to a bus stop at Huntington Park High School, authorities said.
The ninth-grader, whose name was withheld until relatives could be notified, was in guarded condition at County-USC Medical Center, Sgt. Ernie Batterton said.
The girl was attacked while crossing the campus to a point where she was to be picked up and bused to Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Batterton said. Found about 6:30 a.m., the girl had suffered at least 10 stab wounds to her back, he said. She had also been stabbed at least once in the face and several times on her arms--wounds that appeared to be “defensive in nature,” he said.
