Local News in Brief : Raiders Stadium Plan Expected in April
A Washington attorney hired by the city of Irwindale to put together the proposed Los Angeles Raiders stadium project told the Irwindale City Council that he hopes to present it with a final project plan, complete with financing, by the end of April.
Kenneth L. Adams said construction of a 62,000-seat stadium, expandable with temporary seating for such events as a super bowl, could begin next fall, with completion of the project coming in time for the Raiders’ 1992 season.
However, Adams indicated in an interview that Irwindale may have to contribute to financing the stadium. He said it is almost impossible to build a stadium anywhere in the country without a public subsidy.
