Community College Baseball Roundup : Bailey Pitches Two-Hitter for Rancho Santiago

Sophomore right-hander Jack Bailey pitched a two-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Rancho Santiago College to a 9-0 victory over Orange Coast in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Tuesday at Rancho Santiago.

Bailey (3-0) allowed a fifth-inning double to Darrel Conner that ended the no-hitter. Conner also had an eight-inning single. Ryan Thibault (3-1) took the loss for OCC (10-4-1, 0-2).

Greg Martineau had three hits and two RBIs, Tim Reynolds two hits and two runs scored and Conrad Colby two hits and three RBIs for Rancho Santiago (8-6, 2-0).

In other Orange Empire Conference games:

Golden West 12, Saddleback 5--Craig Paquette hit two home runs for the second time in two days for visiting Golden West (7-4, 1-0). He has five home runs this season. Dan Villegas had two hits and three RBIs and Toby Foreman went the distance for the victory.

Fullerton 20, Riverside 5--John Mele had two hits, including his third home run, for host Fullerton (6-7, 1-1), which scored five runs in the first. Fullerton added seven in the fifth and led, 15-5.
