Rain or shine, a field of nearly 20,000 runners will weather tough competition in the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday.
For the fourth consecutive year, KCOP Channel 13 will carry the 26.2-mile race in a live, four-hour telecast. Pre-race coverage will begin at 8 a.m., with the event getting under way at 9 a.m.
Cable’s USA Network will televise the marathon from noon to 3 p.m., and Channel 13 will have an hourlong wrap-up at 6 p.m.
From Florida comes the first of four Los Angeles Dodgers exhibition games on Sunday. The world champions will play the New York Mets at Vero Beach starting at 10:30 a.m. on Channel 11.
Sunday also brings a pro basketball game between the Lakers and Houston Rockets at 12:30 p.m. (2).
