Southern Section Soccer : Agoura (26-0) Wins 3-A Title, 2-0

Agoura closed out a 26-0 season with a 2-0 victory against Anaheim Canyon to win the Southern Section Girls 3-A Division Soccer title Saturday at Gahr High.

Coach Dave Godwin, who announced his retirement last month, and the Chargers have won 41 consecutive matches and have not lost in their last 78.

It was their first 3-A title after winning three straight 2-A championships. In four playoff games they outscored their opposition, 15-0.

In the Girls 2-A final, Temple City beat South Pasadena, 2-1, in a battle of Rio Hondo League rivals.

Central of El Centro defeated Anaheim Esperanza, 3-2 for the Boys 2-A title, and Hemet downed La Canada, 1-0, in the 1-A Division final.
