Simi Valley 4, Canoga Park 2--Junior first baseman Kenny Hood was two for three with an RBI for Simi Valley in an intersectional game at Simi Valley.

Pioneer right-hander John Rodriguez allowed two runs on two hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked seven.

Notre Dame 9, Ventura 6--Chris Lohman hit a two-run single in the fifth and was the winning pitcher in relief as the Knights won a Westside tournament game.

Kevin Milligan was 2 for 4 with an RBI for Notre Dame (3-0).

Camarillo 12, Redondo 5--Charlie Constantine was the winner as the Scorpions scored three runs in each of the first four innings in the Westside tournament game at Camarillo. Bill Lynch and A. J. Lindbloom each had two hits for the Scorpions.

Palisades 9, Chaminade 8--The Eagles (0-3) scored four times in the seventh but came up short in the Westside tournament game at Palisades. Pete Miller and Jeff Burdick each had two hits for the Eagles.

Taft 5, St. Bernard 2--Doug Kougher lashed a two-out, two-run single into center field in the third inning for the Toreadors (3-0) in the Westside tournament game. Benji Belfield and Chris Brown limited the Vikings to eight hits.

Belfield (2-0) also doubled and scored a run.

Montclair Prep 5, Fairfax 4--Jared Baumblatt went two for two for Montclair Prep with a two-run home run in the first inning to help lift Montclair Prep over Fairfax in the second round of the Westside tournament.

Montclair Prep pitcher Chris Anderson (2-0) picked up the win and Scott Sakland earned his second save.

Newbury Park 6, Sunny Hills 5--Geoff Black hit a run-scoring single in the eighth to lead the Panthers in the third round of the Loara tournament.

Jeff O’Brien led the Panthers (4-1) with three hits and two RBIs. O’Brien (2-0), who started at first base, came on in relief in the eighth.

Channel Islands 9, Harvard 4--Channel Islands turned a Chaminade hit-and-run play in the sixth inning into a triple play.

Jim Davis provided the power for Channel Islands (2-0) with a two-run home run. Davis was three for four with four RBIs.

Channel Islands freshman Angel Aragon pitched three perfect innings before giving up two hits and two runs in the fourth.

Kennedy 7, Oxnard 1--Denny Sharp struck out 15 and threw a two-hitter and Shawn Madden hit a three-run triple and had five RBIs to lead Kennedy (2-1) in the third round of the Westside tournament.
