OGDEN, Utah — Dave Arslanian, assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator at Weber State College, was named head coach today, replacing Mike Price. The decision was announced by college President Stephen D. Nadauld a day after Price left to accept the head coaching position at Washington State University. Arslanian, 39, the sixth Wildcat head football coach since the school attained four-year status in 1962, follows in the footsteps of his father, Sark Arslanian, who coached the Wildcats for eight seasons from 1965 to ’72.
The elder Arslanian was the winningest coach in Weber State football history with an overall mark of 50-26-1.
