Cousin Held in Death of Woman
A 22-year-old San Diego man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of killing his cousin, whom firefighters had found stabbed to death in her burning apartment, police said.
LaPeer Moore of the 4300 block of 51st Street in East San Diego lived at the same apartment complex as the victim, Angelique Dhue, 20, whose body was found Tuesday, police said.
Police also said Moore and Dhue were believed to have been working for the Salvation Army in San Diego.
Moore was arrested after being interviewed at police headquarters. Authorities said he was the last person known to have spoken with his cousin before she was found dead with multiple stab wounds, lying near the fire, which caused $10,000 in structural damage.
Moore was being held in County Jail downtown.
