Former Valley player Bernadette Tillis has orally committed to Colorado State. Tillis, who spent the past year completing her degree, played point guard for the Lady Monarchs two seasons ago.

Freshmen Sandrine Rocher and Christine Rumfola were selected as Valley’s most improved players at the team’s awards banquet. Other award winners were: freshmen Karrie Parsons (most inspirational) and Tisa Rush (best defensive player). Lattin received the coaches’ award and Aguilar was MVP.

Junior Darcy Arreola won the 5,000 meters in 16 minutes, 59.27 seconds in the Sun Angel Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday.

Arreola’s time qualified her for the NCAA Division II championships in Hampton, Va., in May and moved her into seventh place on the all-time Northridge list in the event.
