Mark Morton, a Cal State Northridge assistant baseball coach, sustained a fractured skull and concussion when he was struck by a baseball while pitching batting practice Wednesday.

Morton, who is recuperating at his home in North Hollywood, did not lose consciousness, according to Northridge baseball Coach Bill Kernen.

Morton, a second-year assistant, was unavailable for comment Thursday, but his wife Cynthia said that he is expected to recover completely from his injuries.
