Martinez Pitches CSUN Past Cal Poly SLO, 5-2
Senior Fili Martinez pitched a four-hitter to lead Cal State Northridge to a 5-2 victory over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. baseball game Monday at San Luis Obispo.
The victory moved Northridge (24-14-1 overall, 11-10-1 in conference play) to within 1 1/2 games of first-place SLO (24-19 overall).
Mike Solar and Randy Thompson each doubled to pace Northridge’s nine-hit attack. Martinez (5-5) walked three and struck out eight.
