Bobby Ryan threw a six-hitter to lead Cal Poly (SLO) to a 7-0 victory over Lewis University Tuesday night, knocking the Flyers out of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

Cal Poly, 35-25, will play Slippery Rock (Pa.) today and Thursday, if necessary, needing two victories to advance to Friday’s title game. Lewis closed the season at 42-23.

Ryan (6-8) was never in trouble as he pitched the Mustang’s second shutout of the season. Only one Lewis base runner got as far as third base.
