Doug Williams, Washington Redskins quarterback, was accused in court documents in Baton Rouge, La., of using a financial dispute with his wife to try to get the upper hand in their legal fight over separation.
Lisa Williams, 27, filed the papers in response to an arrest warrant in which Williams accused her of illegally cashing a $75,000 check for advertisements Williams did in Ebony magazine.
She claims she was authorized to cash the check since she is an officer in a corporation the two set up to create endorsements and that she has signed checks often in the past.
