In Ratings Race, Coverage of Sports Is Left in Dust
L.A. sportscasts are at a “shameful” low. In a fight for ratings, Fred Roggin’s blooper segments, once cute, have grown to a tasteless and far-too-great proportion of his Sunday night program.
Keith Olbermann has sold out to Roggin-like tactics, but at least he shows some knowledge of sports.
Jim Hill, the original Sunday night sports man, provides the most sports-oriented show, including great in-studio guests, all of which puts him in third place in the ratings.
