First-round leader Tom Sieckmann was in a three-way tie for the second-round lead today when play was suspended in the Westchester Classic.

A steady, chilly rain flooded portions of the Westchester Country Club course and forced officials to halt play at 12:05 p.m. EDT. There was no immediate indication when, or if, play would be resumed. The forecast was for continued rain, with the possibility of thundershowers, for the rest of the day.

About half the 156-man field was on the course or awaiting their starting times when play was stopped. At that time, Sieckmann was tied for the lead with Australian Wayne Grady and Dick Mast at 134, eight-under par. Sieckmann had a 1-under-par 70 in the difficult conditions. Grady shot 65, six-under par, and Mast fired a 68.
