A 20-year-old Laguna Hills man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the shooting of the owner of a Placentia automobile repair shop after a dispute over a repair bill, police said Saturday.

Jerome Donald Ewing, 20, was taken into custody Friday afternoon just minutes after he allegedly shot and critically wounded Leonard Royer Morris, 43, owner of Lenny’s International Auto Creations on South Placentia Avenue.

Police said Morris, a Yorba Linda resident, was shot twice and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
