Woodland Hills Astros Sweep Collegiate League Doubleheader

Mike Lieberthal singled in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning of the opener and had three hits and drove in two runs in the second game as the Woodland Hills Astros swept the Valley Angels, 8-6 and 11-6, in a Collegiate League baseball doubleheader at Valley College on Saturday.

After Dave Tokheim’s two-run home run in the fifth pulled Woodland Hills (6-1) within a run in the first game, the Astros added three more runs in the sixth for the win.

Led by Lieberthal, Woodland Hills pounded four Valley pitchers for 13 hits in the second game.

Allen Marks added two hits and two RBIs for Woodland Hills, which won its sixth consecutive game.
