An El Cajon man was killed Tuesday when his pickup struck a car and overturned at Interstate 8 and California 125, authorities said.
John Lewis Beall, 27, of the 1000 block of Greta Street, was driving west on Interstate 8 when he swerved to exit onto California 125 about 12:50 p.m., said Deputy Coroner Cal Vine.
Beall’s truck hit a car driven by Fiona Young, 34, of El Cajon, said a California Highway Patrol spokesman.
Both vehicles overturned, authorities said. Beall was taken to Grossmont Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:27 p.m..
Young and her two children, ages 2 years and 6 months, who were riding in the car, were not injured, authorities said.
