Rackets Beat Strings in Overtime, 28-21
Elna Reinach and Eddie Edwards defeated Lise Gregory and Roger Smith, 1-0, in overtime, as the San Antonio Rackets beat the Los Angeles Strings, 28-21, Sunday night in TeamTennis at San Antonio, Tex.
Gregory and Smith forced the overtime by winning the mixed doubles set, 6-4. In TeamTennis, if the trailing team wins the final set, the match goes to overtime. Matches are then over when the team in the lead wins a game before the trailing team catches up.
The Strings (2-5) play in Sacramento Tuesday night against the Capitals. The Rackets evened their record at 3-3.
