Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into Pole
A Lancaster motorcyclist died Monday when he crashed into a telephone pole in the Canyon Country area, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The victim--a man in his 40s whose identity was not released because relatives had not been notified--was riding north on Sand Canyon Road, just north of Live Oak Springs Road, when he passed another motorcyclist and lost control, Sgt. Jim Curtis said.
The rider, who was wearing a helmet, slid off the road and hit the pole at 50 m.p.h. to 55 m.p.h., Curtis said.
