Truck Blocks 3 Lanes of San Diego Freeway
Astalled truck blocked three lanes of the San Diego Freeway near Mulholland Drive Wednesday morning, backing up rush-hour traffic for several miles, the California Highway Patrol reported.
No one was injured, but traffic was at a virtual standstill from Sepulveda Pass to the Simi Valley Freeway, officials said.
The truck stalled in southbound lanes about 7:40 a.m. when it apparently lost its drive shaft, authorities said. The driver tried to park it on the shoulder but failed, Officer Mike Moss said.
The truck was removed from traffic lanes about an hour later, but traffic remained congested until about 11 a.m., Sgt. Dan Rodman said.
