Deion Sanders, no releation to Barry, signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons after arriving from Seattle, where he had been playing left field for the New York Yankees.

Sanders, the All-American cornerback from Florida State who had agreed to terms Wednesday, got a $2-million signing bonus with the Falcons, payable immediately, according to his agent, as part of a four-year package that will pay Sanders about $4.5 million.

Meanwhile, rookie offensive tackle Tony Mandarich, who on Tuesday signed a four-year, $4.4-million contract with the Green Bay Packers, will be paid a base salary of $300,000 this season, which is well below the team’s highest, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported.

Linebacker John Anderson, a 12-year veteran, has the highest base salary, about $500,000.

Mandarich, the No. 2 draft choice overall, will reportedly earn base salaries of $400,000 in 1990, $500,000 in 1991 and $600,000 in 1992.

The newspaper reported that some of Mandarich’s $2-million signing bonus will be deferred. Mandarich reportedly has received $250,000 of the bonus and will get another $750,000 in January.
