Fountain Valley : Woman Questioned in Shooting of Housemate

Share

A Fountain Valley woman was taken to police headquarters for questioning Thursday after the shooting of a man who lived with her, police said.

Thomas A. Heppenheimer, 42, was found sitting in an upstairs room about 2 p.m. suffering from two gunshot wounds to the head and a third shot to the shoulder, said Fountain Valley Police spokesman Lt. Larry Griswold. Heppenheimer was listed in serious but stable condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was taken by helicopter.

Griswold said police officers responded to a call for help “from a hysterical woman” at a home in the 11000 block of Blue Allium Avenue. There, Griswold said, officers found Angela Lee Johnson, 30, in a separate room, and took her in for questioning.

“We think she is the one who called, but we aren’t sure,” Griswold said. Late Thursday, Johnson had been taken into custody.

Griswold said a .25-caliber handgun found in the house was taken in for testing.

“Right now, we’re still trying to find out what happened,” Griswold said.
