Santiago Edges Savanna With Late Score, 17-14

Mike Carrasco’s six-yard touchdown pass to Fernando Guillen with 7 minutes 29 seconds left gave Santiago High School a 17-14 victory over Savanna Thursday night in a nonleague football game at Glover Stadium.
Savanna (0-2), which has lost 11 consecutive games, took the lead in the third quarter on a five-yard touchdown by Randall Morgan.
Jason Hooper accounted for 10 first-half points for Santiago (1-1).
Hooper kicked a 42-yard field goal in the first quarter. He caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Chad Carter and kicked the extra point in the second quarter.
Kenison Po Ching gave the Rebels a brief lead in the second quarter with an 18-yard run. Po Ching had 100 yards rushing in the first half but played sparingly in the second half because of leg cramps.
