SDSU Women Win Third Title in Row

For the third consecutive year, the San Diego State women’s volleyball team won the county volleyball championship at UCSD.
In the championship match Wednesday night, Jennifer Miller (nine kills) led the Aztecs (9-5) over the Tritons, 15-1, 15-8, 15-11.
In semifinals, UCSD defeated USIU, 16-14, 15-12, 15-5, and SDSU defeated the University of San Diego, 15-5, 15-7, 15-10.
Kim Masoli (10 kills) led Christian Heritage (1-4) to a 15-10, 15-11, 4-15, 15-17, 15-0 non-conference victory over San Diego City College with 10 kills.MEN’S SOCCER
Host UCSD (5-0-1) defeated Azusa Pacific, 2-0, as Karrick Brewster scored in the 64th minute on an assist from Brett Egusa. Scott Rommel added an insurance goal.
BOXING
Terry Norris of San Diego will fight Nathan Dryer of Phoenix in the junior-middleweight main event of Pro Box Promotions tonight at 7:30 at the El Cortez Convention Center. Norris (21-3) is the North American Boxing Federation super-welterweight champion.
