HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : Marian Beats Army-Navy for First Victory

Tony Acosta began the game with three consecutive touchdown runs of 65, 18 and seven en route to Marian’s first victory, a 35-14 rout of host Army-Navy Saturday in a Desert/Coastal League game.

Acosta finished with 155 yards on nine carries. Hector Concepcion rushed for 63 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns for Marian (1-7, 1-2). Sophomore Koury Clark rushed 19 times for 61 yards with one touchdown for Army-Navy (2-4, 0-3). Clark has 722 rushing yards in 109 carries, averaging 120 yards per game.

Southern / Coastal League Eight Man

La Jolla Country Day 48, Bishop’s 0--The game was called in the third quarter due to the 45-point rule, following Robert Yang’s 18-yard touchdown run. Yang finished with 60 yards on seven carries with two touchdowns for La Jolla Country Day (6-1, 3-0). Rashaan Salaam had three touchdown runs of 50, 54 and 22 yards for the Torres. Bishop’s dropped to 2-5, 1-2.
