ON THE SIDELINES : 3 Raped Woman, Witness Says
A key state witness in the first-degree rape trial of three former Oklahoma football players testified today that the three raped a 20-year-old Oklahoma City woman in the football dormitory on Jan. 21.
Jimmy Fennell, a former football player, said the woman at times screamed and struggled with her attackers.
Bernard Hall of Detroit, Nigel Clay of Fontana, Calif., and Glen Bell of Muskogee are on trial in Cleveland County District Court.
Fennell identified Hall as the person who guided the alleged victim into a bedroom and said he later heard “a scream and somebody yell, ‘Stop.’ ”
Fennell testified the room was dark but he got glimpses of the attackers at times when someone opened a door. He said he attempted to leave the room but was prevented by somebody standing outside the bedroom door.
Fennell also testified that someone pushed him onto the woman at one point. He had testified in an earlier hearing that he did nothing and quickly got up.
