Polished Pride, trained by Frank Monteleone, has earned $32,275 this season. He was ninth in the St. Nicholas Express Handicap Nov. 3 and was second in the Sept. 29 Z. Wayne Griffin Director’s Handicap. Polished Pride was also third in the Express Handicap at Fairplex Park Sept. 14 and was second in the Newport Beach Handicap Sept. 1 at Los Alamitos. His last win was an allowance victory at Bay Meadows Fair on Aug. 19.

King Of The Jungle was fourth in a trial for the Champion of Champions. He has won three of 10 starts and $47,350 this year and has run against some of the toughest horses this fall. He was seventh in the Horsemen’s Quarter Horse Racing Assn. Invitational on Oct. 28 and was fourth in the Z. Wayne Griffin Director’s Handicap and the Mr. California Handicap in September.

Two other horses from the quarter horse invitational are also in this field: Murgies Kip and Playboy Special, who were eighth and ninth, respectively. Murgies Kip was second in the Mr.California Handicap behind Chingaderos earlier this year. His last victory was Sept. 28 in a $9,000 allowance race.

Playboy Special won an allowance race Sept. 12 but has since fallen on tougher times. Besides his ninth in the quarter horse championship, he was fourth in the Pilgrim Handicap and seventh in the Z. Wayne Griffin Director’s Handicap.
