The Philadelphia Eagles today released kicker Steve DeLine and signed former Cowboy Roger Ruzek to be their third kicker of the season for Thursday’s game at Dallas.

DeLine, who made only one of four field goals but kicked the winning extra point in a 10-9 victory Sunday over Minnesota, played in three games after being signed Oct. 30 to replace Luis Zendejas, who is now with Dallas.

The move sets up a match-up of Zendejas and Ruzek against their old teams in the Thanksgiving Day game at Texas Stadium in Irving.

Ruzek, waived by the Cowboys on Nov. 7, had an Eagles tryout Tuesday as winds whipped Veterans Stadium. “He kicked the ball out there in that wind and didn’t miss anything. It was amazing,” Coach Buddy Ryan said.

In nine games with the Cowboys this season, Ruzek was 5 of 11 on field goals and 14 of 15 on extra points.
