Kathleen Alvarez and Cari Young each scored 20 points to help UC San Diego to an 85-67 victory over Southern California College in a nonconference women’s basketball game Tuesday at Southern California College. Kristen Bevis scored 15 for the Vanguards (0-2). San Diego is 1-3.

Cal State San Bernardino 71, Christ College Irvine 60--Genevieve Graff scored 18 points and Christy Kalvhenn scored 13 for the Eagles (1-3). Cal State San Bernardino improved to 1-1.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Pomona Pitzer 88, Pacific Christian 74--Guard David Todd scored 23 points to lead the Sagehens at Cal State Fullerton. Guard Brian Keiser led Pacific Christian (3-3) with 22 points. Pomona Pitzer is 2-3.
