Agua Dulce House Fire Does $250,000 Damage
Afire caused $250,000 damage to a large Agua Dulce home Wednesday morning and embers blown by strong winds touched off a small brush fire nearby, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The 3 a.m. fire engulfed the two-story home in the 7800 block of West Thomas Road and firefighters needed about an hour to contain the blaze, Capt. Robert Cantrell said. No firefighters were injured.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation. The owners were not home at the time, Cantrell said, but the fire destroyed contents of the house that were valued at $50,000.
Embers blown by winds of 30 m.p.h to 40 m.p.h. ignited a fire in nearby brush, which burned less than a quarter-acre before firefighters put it out, Cantrell said.
