Davis to Meet Again With Coliseum Officials

Los Angeles Coliseum Commission President Richard Riordan said Monday that Al Davis, owner of the Los Angeles Raiders, has agreed to another meeting next week with representatives of the commission to discuss a Coliseum renovation that would keep the Raiders playing in Los Angeles indefinitely.

Riordan said he has grown more optimistic in recent days about the contacts with Davis and is convinced that Los Angeles will be able to offer the team a better deal than Sacramento and Oakland interests have.

“If the name of the game is boxes and club seats, the Raiders are going to be able to sell more of those, for a larger amount of money, in Los Angeles than in any of the other cities they have under consideration,” said Riordan.
