BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana State basketball star Chris Jackson said he has purchased a $1-million insurance policy to guard against any career-ending injury while in college.
“It’s with Lloyd’s of London,” Jackson said. “It’s a million-dollar policy that insures me 24 hours a day on and off the court.”
The sophomore scoring sensation said Tuesday that the policy is paid for with a loan that will be repaid when he gets to the professional league.
Jackson, who set an NCAA record 30.2 scoring average as a freshman, said he plans to remain at LSU the full four years.
After four games this season, the point guard has averaged 31.5 points while bothered with an ankle injury.
